On 25.-26. February 2009 researchers and experts from Bangladesh, China and Germany meet in Dhaka, Bangladesh to exchange on informal urban dynamics.
On 13. and 14. November 2008 about 50 researchers of the priority program "Megacities-Megachallenge" met in the School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou (China) for the 5th Program Cooperation Workshop.

On 03.-06.11.2008 the SPP was present on the German exhibition booth of the Fourth World Urban Form in Nanjing.

On 01.-02. July 2008 the PhD candidates of the Megacities-Megachallenges-program will come together to discuss theoretical, practical and organisational issues of their ressearch work in PRD and Dhaka.
On 03.06.-01.07.2008 the members of the priority program convene to exchange and discuss about theoretical aspects of urban informal dynamics and global change processes.
At the colloquium the participants of the SPP as well as external experts met to discuss and exchange the program's research progress. The event took place on 28. and 29. January in Berlin.
In Guangzhou and Dhaka the Bangladeshi, Chinese and German scientists participating in the SPP came together to discuss informal aspects of megaurban developments and their connections with global change processes. The workshop in Guangzhou took place on 19. and 20. November, the one in Dhaka on 22. November.
At the workshop the project coordinators convene to discuss organizational issues. The event will take place on 18. and 19. June in Bensberg, near Cologne.

At the DGA annual conference in Berlin participants of different projects of the SPP met to discuss joint steps ahead for the program.
